8 DIY Gifts Mom Will Love

8 DIY Gifts Mom Will Love

With Mother's Day on my mind I got to searching my good ol' trusty Pinterest for some ideas of things I could make or possibly even have the girls help me make for the mamas in our lives.  Now I will have to admit that if there is some type of support group for Pinterest addicts then I should probably sign up because I can never help but spend ten minutes on there and come away feeling like there are now 25 more things on my to-do list.  So I decided how about I share all the good things I find with you all that way I don't feel like I have to make all this awesomeness myself?? So really, you're helping me!

I narrowed down a very long list to about 8 of my favorite so that it wouldn't get too long on you!  If you want to see more feel free to follow me on Pinterest by searching Color Your Health, or by clicking the black Pinterest icon at the bottom of website or on my About page.  Like I said, I am always pinning ideas, for better or for worse!  Now scroll on through and see if any of these beauties catch your eye for those special mamas of yours.  Enjoy!

Lavender Goat Milk Soap - This soap not only looks gorgeous enough to be sold in stores but its recipe makes 12 bars so you can check off all the moms and women on your gifting lists.  Many of the supplies required for this recipe can be used for multiple batches of soaps so while the cost may be a bit up front you will buy once and be able to provide many gifts for a long time to come.  These would also great for hostess gifts or shower favors!  Click here to get the recipe and more details from Erika's blog.

Orange Mint Sugar Scrub - So I am a fairly new convert to using body scrubs routinely.  And let me tell you, my skin has never felt so soft and smooth.  This may be a "simple" gift  but the soft, luxurious feeling it provides is the real gift.  Add to that the uplifting and invigorating scents of orange and mint and you have a real winner!  Head over here to Rebekah's blog to learn how to make a gift your mamas will love!

Tummy Tightening Oil - What mama doesn't want a stomach that's just a little bit tighter and something to help fade stretch marks and scars?  You can find my recipe here for an oil that helps with both of these mama troubles. Tie a nice ribbon around the bottle and your gift will be as beautiful on the outside as it is on the inside!

Muscle Relief Bath Bombs -   What better way to treat a mom than to provide some muscle relief from all of the household chores and the picking up and carrying of children.  Come to think of it, a massage would be a spectacular mother's day gift (hint hint to a certain someone), but these just might come in a close second.  Provided that mama is allowed some peace and quit time to enjoy said gift.  Head on over to the Paleo Hacks blog to get the recipe and details.

Homemade Bath Salts - Here's another simple yet gorgeous gift to help a special mama get some relaxation. Erin has also been helpful enough to provide both cute packaging suggestions and cute labels to attach to the bottles. Head over here to visit Erin's blog and see the recipe.

Body Spray -  Instead of going out and buying perfumes or sprays for your moms that actually have quite a few controversial chemicals, why not make a quick and easy spray that will keep her smelling lovely even through a full day of taking care of the house and family. Check out my recipe here for a basic body splash and a few scent combinations.

Lavender Rosemary Candle - Candles are something that I have always loved, yet lately I have stopped purchasing due to all of the health concerns I have learned regarding the burning of synthetic fragrances.  I have yet to make a DIY candle of my own, however this recipe makes it look oh so easy!  I think I'm going to give this one a try for my mom this year for Mother's Day.  The great thing about this recipe is there is no limit to the different scent combinations you can make.  And just like we talked about earlier with the soap, the supplies are a cost up from but after that you can be making candles for everyone on your list for so many occasions! Check out Kristin's blog here to learn more.

Aromatherapy Rice Eye Pillow - Any sewing experts out there?  This is your project.  Even novices to sewing can pick up this DIY.  Stephanie includes the sewing pattern, instructions and scent suggestions to make a very calming and effective relaxation tool.  Visit Stephanie's blog and read all the details here.

And that's it friends!  If you enjoyed what you read here be sure to follow along with me on Pinterest!  And remember, it is not only what you give that means the most to moms, but what you say and do as well.  Needing some advice on what to say to moms to make their day?  Give this a read for some suggestions that any mom will be sure to love.  Until next time!
