Hi Everyone!

It is a pleasure to welcome you to my space!  I hope you find inspiration here to help you live the healthy life that works for you and your family!  I am a wife, mother of two, and pediatric dentist living in beautiful Southern California (we moved from Kansas back in 2018).  My journey to this blog began soon after I gave birth to my wonderful twin girls in 2013.

*Sidenote: The girls are now five and remind me daily of the phrase that "The days are long but the years are short".  

 As it often does, life took on a whole new substantial meaning after becoming a mother to two human beings.  Like all parents, I wanted to make sure that the girls had the best quality of life that I could give them and that my husband and I were around to raise our girls and watch them start families of their own.

*Another Sidenote (did I mention that I am scatterbrained at times??): My husband, Arshia, and I have been married since 2011 and he is the best friend, husband, and father I could ever ask for.  He has supported me and my family in countless ways and always stands behind my crazy thoughts, ideas, and dreams. And he puts up with my Type A, 100 mile a minute personality- so he's a catch for sure!

 This new era of existence at first had me scanning baby products for harmful ingredients, hovering over my children at all times, and trying to squeeze in workouts between warming bottles and changing diapers. As the girls grew and our lives started to find more balance and also new challenges, I was inspired to start of blog of my own where I could share the ideas that were useful for me in maintaining a healthy and balanced life while being a wife and mother.  To me, healthy living is not just eating right and exercising.  It is also being emotionally healthy, mentally challenged, and also watching the products and chemicals that you use on your body and in your home.  I am a big believer in using natural products both with beauty and personal care as well as home care and cleaning.  I use a lot of essential oils, but also a lot of other natural ingredients.  You can read a little more about the start of my essential oil journey here.  With this blog, my goal is to document my health journey and do so in a way that makes healthy living fun and exciting.  And just in case you are thinking that I am a strict health food nut, let me just mention that I still thoroughly enjoy going out to eat on occasion, eating chocolate, and drinking wine. I am a mom after all, and my stress level has got to be managed to some degree with chocolate and wine, right LOL?  I hope you enjoy what you find here and most of all, I hope that you find a way to live the healthy life that works for you!
