Petit Vour Beauty Subscription Box: August 2019 Review

Petit Vour Beauty Subscription Box: August 2019 Review

Have you all had moments in your life when you feel like you are slowly sliding off the hamster wheel that is the daily grind? These last few months that has been me, and I have actually welcomed the slide as I knew that my body needed a bit of a break. I took a few months off more or less from both this blog as well as from Instagram in order to reprioritze things in my life and have a bit of a breather. It has been nice and has allowed me some much needed reflection time and now I am recharged and ready to take on the next few busy and exciting months to close out the year. In the coming weeks I will share a bit more about my life experiences as of late, but today let’s talk beauty! There were five items in the Petit Vour August Beauty Box and here is my honest opinion on them.

Harvest Natural Beauty Lengthening Organic Mascara

I was excited to see a mascara in my box simply because I love mascara and am always open to trying out new varieties. On my first application with this mascara, I noticed that it glided on very easily and the pigment was rich and dark. In my opinion, however; I feel that the formula is too oily as it does smudge and smear too easily. In just an hour or two of wearing I have racoon eyes and that is no fun! Bottom Line: Rich pigment and glides easily, but does not last long.

Cost: $18

Honua Skincare Pa’akai Cleansing Cream

When I first laid eyes on this cleansing cream I was automatically sold because of how cute it looked. That’s right guys, if you haven’t learned by now, I am a complete sucker for cute packaging. Complete. Anyhow, I was more than excited to use it for the first time because the pale pink color alone seemed as if it would be extra soothing for my skin. Overall I had a pleasant experience using this cleanser. For me it did not foam much, but did seem to remove all makeup and grime from my face. I will say that I did not love the scent, it had a hint of rose but otherwise just had a vague “product” smell, although nothing too chemical. The formula did leave my skin feeling very soft afterwards so that is also a plus! Bottom Line: Cleanses face gently and leaves skin soft with and underwhelming fragrance.

Cost: $24 for 2 Fl Oz and $42 for 4 Fl Oz

Petite Histoire Envie Desoir Perfume Oil

The answer to my request the last few months was finally in my box this time! As someone who loves making my own non toxic perfumes, I love seeing what other companies come up with as they are always more vibrant and complex than the ones I am able to create! This particular perfume has notes of Bergamot, Rose, Violet and Sandalwood. It was a nice fragrance, and certainly had complex notes to it, but not necessarily my favorite fragrance. To me, this was more of an old fashioned floral fragrance, and while not bad – I prefer more cheerful and citrusy/floral fragrances. The perfume did have staying power and seemed to last well. Bottom Line: A quality perfume, although the floral and amber fragrance was not quite right for me.

Cost: $5 for 1 mL and $65 for .37 Fl Oz

Derma E Essentials Radiance Toner

I have mentioned it a time or two before, but I am not necessarily one to use skin toner although I definitely understand the importance and know I need to begin incorporating it into the routine. With that said, I did enjoy using this toner and I hope I keep it up! The toner has glycolic acid to help with gentle exfoliation, rooibos to help with providing skin with nutrients and protection, and rosehips extract which I love for deep moisture and skin repair. My skin did feel better and brighter the times that I used this product and I feel that it is a great addition to the skincare routine for any skin type. Bottom Line: Multi tasking skin toner at a very reasonable price.

Cost: $15 For 6 Fl Oz

Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Serum

Luckily, I am not one that suffers from blemishes too often so I can not truly speak to the effectiveness of this serum. What I can say is how the product felt on my skin after using it. The product soaked into my skin well, was not greasy whatsoever, and did not leave my skin feeling dry. I love the fact that this product contains not only ingredients to help fight breakout and unclog pores (salicylic acid and willow bark), but it also contains several ingredients for skin repair and protection. Vitamin C and fruit acids brighten skin and nourish it, green tea and aloe soothe irritated skin, and the powerful antioxidants Vitamin E and B5 help to protect the skin. I believe that this is certainly a product worth trying for those that are prone to breakouts and oily skin. Bottom Line: A well rounded, breakout fighting serum that doesn’t cost a fortune.

Cost: $30 For 60 mL

As I am behind…. yet again in sharing my reviews with you all, I will be back soon with the September Beauty Box review. Until then, I will be in a free falling juggle of all the crazy life things! I know I am really due for an update soon, once things calm for a moment I promise to share more! Until then, stay well my friends!
