Anyone else out there in love with the invention of tinted moisturizers and B.B. creams... or what I like to call a “mild foundation”??  I will admit that I have been blessed with overall good skin so I don’t find the need for a thick foundation but I do enjoy having something to even out my skin tone a bit and I absolutely feel strongly about using sunscreen everyday so I try to combine those two things by using something like a tinted moisturizer with SPF.  Prior to making the switch to cleaner products I did use a major cosmetics brand that did the trick but I was on the hunt for something that would fit more into my clean living lifestyle.  I stumbled upon Suntegrity’s tinted moisturizer when I was given it as a sample with a purchase of other products.  Read on to find out if I still use this one today or if I am still on the hunt!

Ingredients:  Active ingredient: zinc-oxide 20% (non-nano)

aloe barbadensis (organic aloe vera) leaf juice, capric caprylic triglycerides (coconut oil extract), water (aqua), sorbitan stearate (plant derived), glyceryl stearate (plant derived), polyglyceryl-4 isostearate (plant derived), hexyl laurate (plant derived), simmondsia chinensis (organic jojoba) seed oil, cetyl dimethicone (mineral derived), magnesium sulfate (epsom salt), helianthus annuus (organic sunflower) seed oil, cucumis sativus (organic cucumber) fruit extract, astaxanthin (algae source), hyaluronic acid (plant derived), chlorella emersonii (red algae) extract, camellia sinensis (organic green tea) extract, punica granatum (organic pomegranate) seed oil, polyaminopropyl biguanide*, ethylhexylglycerin*, iron oxide.

*paraben-free preservative

Texture:  One of my favorite things about this product is the smooth, creamy, and thick texture.  It dispenses very easily via a dispensing pump on the tube and glides across your face easily.  I should note that due to its sunscreen content there will be a little bit of a filmy residue that will begin to flake off if you run in too much so it’s best to apply with dabs or light pressure (a makeup sponge or beauty blender would work great for this!).

How To Use:  I apply two pumps which equates to less than a dime size of product and this is enough to cover my entire face.  You can use any type of tool that you would typically use to apply foundation although as mentioned before a face sponge/blender is best.  I apply jut one coat to a clean face and that’s all that’s needed, I can visibly notice my face more even in color and it feel smooth and silky as primers do to allow other products to adhere better to the skin.  I feel that this lasts me all day and when I take my makeup off at night it is still present as evidenced by the towel I use to wash my face!

Ease Of Use:  Due to its nice, smooth and thick consistency this is a dream to apply.  One coat is all that I find necessary.

Results:  For me, this one coat is enough to even out any slight skin discolorstions or imperfections  and leave my skin feeling hydrated with a nice base for any additional makeup.  In my opinion the results match up with what the product claims to do.

Bonus:  Not only does this protect your skin from sun damage but it also covers, moisturizes, primes, and potentially treats your face.  The treatment comes from the sense that the zinc oxide can help with skin conditions such as rosacea, acne, and melasma.

Cost: There are four shades to choose from (Fair, Light, Golden Light, and Medium) and for a 1.7 ounce tube the cost is $45.00.

Overall Grade:  Due to its nice consistency, and ability to even out my skin tone all while moisturizing my face and providing sun protection I give this product an A+!  I immediately tried to buy this after using a sample initially, unfortunately my shade was sold out so I patiently (sort of) waited for a few weeks and purchased the full size once it came back in stock.  Unlike other beauty products, this is truly something necessary in a daily routine as our sun gets stronger and cases of skin cancer increase yearly, it is so very important to stay protected!  So, if you are ready to take a closer look and try it out you can do so HERE!

Until next time friends!
