I am such a fan of body scrubs, in fact it was one of the first DIY recipes I developed.  The way your skin comes out feeling so soft and fresh and smelling fabulous... a luxurious self care task for sure.  Another thing I love about body scrubs is that you can make so many variations based on seasonal scents and skincare needs.  I was craving a fall and holiday scrub because I can never get enough of these scents, below you will find the recipe that I will be enjoying this holiday season.  It reminds me of a divine mix between warm pumpkin bread and gingerbread cookies baking in the oven and it leaves me not only with soft and glowing skin, but also a feeling of comfort.  I hope you all enjoy it as much as have!

Ingredients and Supplies Needed

3/4 Cup Brown Sugar or Coconut Sugar (The coconut sugar can be used as an "all natural alternative" however it will slightly throw off the scent profile as it has a somewhat distinct scent itself.)

1/4 Cup Epsom Salt

1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon

1/4 Cup Almond Oil

1/4 Cup Coconut Oil

1/2 Teaspoon Vitamin E Oil

15 Drops Orange Essential Oil

7 Drops Clove Essential Oil

5 Drops Ginger Essential Oil

Lidded Glass Container Such As A Wide Mouthed Mason Jar

A body scrub to leave you feeling moisturized and comforted using natural ingredients.  A perfect holiday DIY project!

Holiday Body Scrub Recipe

You will first want to add your Sugar, Epsom Salt, and Cinnamon to your container and mix them together well.  Now add your Almond Oil, Coconut Oil, and Vitamin E Oil and mix together all ingredients.  You should be left with a very thick consistency of salt/sugar mix with a little bit of an oil coating on top, this prevents the sugar and salt from drying out over time.  Now all thats left to do is add in your scent!  Place all drops of essential oils into the container and stir everything together well.  Seal the jar tightly and leave it sealed overnight prior to using it, this allows the scent to disperse throughout the jar and strengthen.  Now use 2-3 times per week, or even daily, in the shower to exfoliate your body.  You will want to use caution as the oily nature of this product can cause the shower floor to become slippery!  Also keep in mind that body scrubs can be a bit messy so I always keep a large cups in the shower that I use to wash away the excess scrub that finds itself in the corners of the shower!
