A DIY Turmeric Face Serum Inspired By The Beautycounter All Bright C Serum

A DIY Turmeric Face Serum Inspired By The Beautycounter All Bright C Serum

My BeautyCounter rep who I know and love sent me a sample of the new BeautyCounter All Bright Vitamin C Serum and I totally fell in love with it after a few uses! I mean, who doesn’t want a brighter complexion, am I right!? Well immediately upon the first use I smelled a familiar ingredient that I was so excited about…. turmeric! If you have been a long time follower of this blog then you may already know my love for turmeric and it’s skin brightening properties. For some reason though, I had never really thought about using turmeric in a face serum and I was super intrigued to give it a try after using this BeautyCounter sample.

The main thing that I wanted to change in regards to the All Bright serum was that I wanted to make my DIY product more moisturizing. Basically, the benefits of a serum but with the added bonus of a daytime moisturizer. In the end, I went through several different formulations and lots of missteps before I came to the final formulation that you see here. The thing you will likely love about it is that the base of this serum will be an already made for you product that you can purchase on Amazon (for fairly cheap). This makes the whole process so much easier… seriously, it is such a simple DIY at a fraction of the cost of the BeautyCounter version. Check out the cost comparison below and you will see that it simply just makes sense to create your own products sometimes!

The key ingredients in this DIY serum are Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and turmeric. The vitamin C and turmeric are full of antioxidants for skin cell detox, repair, and damage prevention. These ingredients will help to brighten skins appearance and also lighten dark spots on the skin. The hyaluronic acid allows a deep moisturization of skin while also helping to tighten and plump the skin. The remaining ingredients work together to further moisturize the skin and leave you with a glowing complexion!

Ingredients And Supplies Needed

1 Oz. Bottle Of InstaNatural Vitamin C Serum

3 Teaspoons Of Meadowfoam Oil

3 Teaspoons Of Apricot Oil

1/4 Teaspoon Ground Turmeric

15 Drops Of Orange Essential Oil

Small Spoon

Small Bowl

Mini Funnel

1 Oz Dropper Bottle

DIY Turmeric Face Serum

1. To begin with, pour half of the bottle of the Insta Natural Vitmain C Serum into a separate bottle. This will allow you to make two bottles of your turmeric face serum at one time.

2. Next, pour one of your bottles containing the half portion of Insta Natural Vitamin C Serum into your small bowl.

3. Now add 2 Teaspoons of Apricot Oil to the bowl and stir.

4. Next, add 2 Teaspoons of Meadowfoam Oil to the bowl and stir.

5. Now add 1/4 Teaspoon of turmeric into the bowl and mix well. The more that you mix, the more that the turmeric granules should dissolve into the mix, leaving you with a thick custard like consistency.

6. Add 15 drops of orange essential oil and continue to stir well.

7. Finally, add in 1 Teaspoon each of Apricot Oil and Meadowfoam Oil and mix together. Once all is mixed, using your mini funnel, carefully pour the mixture back into your 1 oz. bottle. The mixture is thick so you will need to go slowly and tap the funnel on top of the bottle to get the serum to fall into it.

8. You can now use the second half of your Insta Natural Vitamin C Serum and your second 1 oz bottle to make another batch by repeating steps 2-7.

To use the product place a very small amount (dime size or less) into your clean hands and massage fully into your skin. It is best to give it time to absorb prior to placing any makeup on your face as this will leave somewhat of an oily residue until it fully absorbs into your skin. You can use this at night time if it is too heavy for daytime use for you. Also, please keep in mind that any time you use a citrus product it is VERY important to wear a daily sunscreen product over top of it as citrus can make your skin photosensitive.

Price Breakdown

As you can see below, the cost of the ingredients for this DIY is over $20 less than the BeautyCounter version, and can make twice as much! If you buy 2 bottles of the InstaNatural Vitamin C Serum, you can actually make 4 Oz (4 x as much as the BeautyCounter version) for the same price!

This DIY turmeric face serum was inspired by the BeautyCounter All Bright Vitamin C serum. It will leave your skin glowing for a fraction of the cost!
