Copycat Calendula Lip Conditioner: A Soothing Recipe For Soft Lips

Have any of you tried Beauty Counter products? Well if you have then you probably know what I am talking about when I say that they are pretty amazing… and if you haven’t than just trust me on this one! Although I love me some Beauty Counter products… I do not love the price, like at all! There are some things that I am certainly willing to splurge for (like their Overnight Resurfacing Peel), but others I have decided to start trying to make my own copycat version of. To begin my journey with this endeavor I decided to start with that one I deemed the easiest to replicate - the Calendula Lip Conditioner. This lip balm is so soothing and is always a nice touch to add to my makeup and nightly bedtime skincare routine. After making my Calendula infused oil a while back I whipped this copycat recipe up and I think it is pretty spot on for the original. Make it for yourself below and let me know what you think!

Calendula Lip Conditioner Copycat Recipe

In a double boiler over low heat, melt beeswax and shea butter until full melted. Once fully melted turn off the heat and add in the calendula oil and essential oils. Stir contents together well and carefully pour into your tins. Allow to fully cool before placing the lid on the tin to avoid condensation inside the tin.

I promise, it’s as easy as that! Literally just about three simple steps and your lips will be feeling the softest ever! Not only that, but each container will be a fraction of the price as buying from BC!

To illustrate this a little better, let’s break down the numbers here. Even if you have none of the ingredients and needed to buy them all, you would be spending about $60. With that $60 purchase, you could make 7 oz of lip balm. The BC price is $22 for just .4 oz, making this is a cost of $5.50 for each 0.1 oz. If you wanted a 1 oz size, like the tins you are making, the cost would be $55…. and 7 of those tins would cost $385 at that price! And this is not even to mention the fact that, aside from the calendula oil, you can make several batches of this recipe (or other recipes) with the ingredients you purchase! How amazing is that!?

So please, put this on your to do list! And then after using it and falling in love with it come back on over here and leave me a comment so everyone else can see why I’m obsessed with this recipe LOL! Now to decide what copycat recipe to make next…. leave any suggestions below!
