Chamomile Caress: A Gentle Homemade Face Wash Made With Castile Soap

Recently I was out of face wash and I remember this was a DIY that I have been wanting to tackle for a while. A while back I made, and still frequently use, a cleansing balm that I love; but on days that I work I like to add an extra layer of cleansing. I knew I wanted to go for something that had a lot of suds action but would not dry out my skin. I decided I would use my tried and true foaming hand soap recipe as a starting point for this face wash and go from there.

All of my favorite face washes have a calming scent to them which I love, and to me, chamomile is one of the most relaxing scents out there. If you remember a while back I also made a calendula infused oil to use in my beauty recipes, and with the many amazing properties calendula has I decided it would be a great addition to the face wash. Calendula has amazing anti inflammatory and antimicrobial properties as well as aid in new skin cell turnover. The combination of relaxing chamomile and soothing calendula is perfect for sensitive skin and for calming the skin after a long day.

The best part of all of this? It quite literally takes 2 minutes to make once you have all of the ingredients at hand!
